Many people must feel where they live is the wettest place in the UK which is why so many have FloodSax sandless sandbags to protect their homes and businesses 24/7, but which city actually holds this dubious title the rainiest city in the UK?
Well, radio experts Blaupunkt looked at both the average annual rainfall in mm and the average number of days of rainfall for each city in the UK and included data going back to 1981 to work out which cities are the wettest.
Here are the top 69 – or bottom - depending which way you look at it – and Manchester comes only 14th even though people often associate it with rain.
Cities on the west of the British Isles and those near the Pennines tend to suffer the most such as Leeds and Bradford. Spare a special thought for the good people of Glasgow where it rains virtually every other day. The driest place on the list is Cambridge where it rains on average just twice a week and must be delighted to come right at the foot of the table … 69 out of 69.

Homeowners and businesses often don’t realise that councils have no responsibility to provide sandbags if flooding is expected. They must protect themselves and one way to do this is to have FloodSax alternative sandbags which are space-saving to store and easy to deploy. It means you have peace of mind and are ready for action 24/7 to prevent a flood.
Once FloodSax come into contact with water they inflate to weigh 20kg (44lbs) which makes them more effective than traditional sandbags at keeping floodwater out.
More than 2.5 million have now been sold worldwide.
