The UK will be battered by another storm tomorrow, Monday, November 13.
Storm Debi will bring very strong winds and heavy rain to the Republic of Ireland and then sweep across Northern Ireland, north Wales and northern England before going into the North Sea on Monday evening.
But why is it here, coming so soon after the UK has suffered severe flooding from Storm Babet and Storm Ciaran?
Well, it’s being carried by a very strong jet stream across the Atlantic and the jet stream is a core of strong winds around five to seven miles above the Earth’s surface blowing from west to east.
According to the Met Office, the core of the jet stream is currently located to the south of the UK and is responsible for the very unsettled weather we are currently suffering. Further areas of low pressure may develop and affect the UK during the coming week.
Local councils have no responsibility to provide sandbags so best be prepared for flooding by getting FloodSax alternative sandbags either online or through retailers near you.
